How You Can Help

Volunteer your time. Conservation commissions are run by volunteers. If you are interested in the study and protection of natural resources or would like to help with your town or city's land management responsibilities, attend a meeting of your commission or contact the chair to find out where your interest and talents would be most useful. Even if there are not open positions on the commission you may be able to be helpful as a member of a committee or as a volunteer for special events.

Invest in your local community! Donations to conservation commissions DO qualify for tax deductions. A yearly donation to the conservation commission makes a perfect Earth Day activity. Mail a donation to your local conservation commission. Click here for a list of New Hampshire Conservation Commission Mailing Addresses.

Consider land conservation. If you own land you may be interested to permanently protect it from future development. Conservation commissions often work to place conservation easements on land with significant natural resources, and they often accept gifts of land for conservation purposes.

Cast your vote FOR important local conservation initiatives.
