Education

At NHACC we offer guidance and training to our conservation commissioners on a variety of issues including conservation funding, natural resource inventory, and many other topics. We help educate our members with programs like Lunch & Learn and the in-depth Community Conservation Cohort training.

We publish the Handbook for New Hampshire’s Municipal Conservation Commissions, and the NH Municipal Conservation Fund Guidebook. We keep our members up-to-date with monthly E-newsletter and Legislative Updates.

Annual Meeting & Conference

NHACC's Annual Meeting & Conference is held on the 1st Saturday of November each year. The conference draws commissioners and conservationists from around the state and offers workshops on a wide variety of topics. Each session is designed to inform and aid commissioners in the work that they do in their communities. Click to learn more about our Annual Meeting & Conference...

Regional Events for Commissions

Regional Open Space Team (ROST) at the Milford Town Hall

The ROST meets quarterly in Milford to discuss regional issues and events.  This group has addressed many issues that cross-town borders including how to promote climate resiliency and regional focus on landscape-scale corridors.

Regional Roundtables

The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust hosts a regional roundtable with conservation commissions in their service areas. Conservation Commission chairs from the 12-town region gather to discuss the issues and topics important to their towns. A forum to get advice and ideas from others who are doing similar things in nearby towns. The roundtable is held in the fall and again in the spring.

The Seacoast Roundtable meets every other month in Hampton to review emerging issues and share best practices. The seacoast towns work together on conservation planning and how to address increasing development as well as local concerns like sea-level rise and increased flooding.

The Upper Valley Land Trust hosts a regional roundtable each winter to check in with the towns along the Connecticut River. The UVLT works closely with local conservation commissions to identify and prioritize land conservation opportunities in their region.

The Milton Conservation Commission hosts the Regional Open Space Team (ROST) for commissions in the lower Merrimack Valley region. Contact NHACC for more information on regional events in your area.
